This stage of player development is all about basic skill acquisition. We want them to find joy in playing the game and develop confidence through repetition. Our focus in practice is on building running, jumping, throwing and catching abilities in a relaxed setting. All of the fundamentals taught in this stage translate across any sport and improve as their bodies grow and mature.
Ages 8+
Players in this stage are starting to become aware of their strengths and growth areas. We begin to develop the ABC's (agility, balance + coordination) and introduce fundamental team concepts through training and league games. The core skills learned in these formative years will establish the foundation for future success.
Ages 10+
Structured competition is now becoming the norm. Players are beginning to realize the dynamics of being part of a team and start to make their own adjustments after learning from their mistakes. In this stage, our focus is on refining mechanics and building position-specific skills while competing.
Ages 12+
The tactical and technical awareness for the game is starting to blossom and players are testing themselves consistently in training and competition. Our training keys on the movements, recognition and strategies that they'll see from players at the next level. Some players may be looking forward to a full transition into tackle football. We prepare them to make the leap.
